Crown and Bridge:

Sometimes the breakdown of teeth due to decay, fracture, or wear, is too severe to be replaced with traditional fillings. In these cases, crowns are recommended to restore the tooth to proper form and function, and protect it from further damage. For example, teeth that require root canals often require crowns to protect the tooth from fracture.

Fixed partial dentures, often referred to as bridges, are restorations that are used to replace missing teeth. These restorations are cemented in place acting much like natural teeth, and are not removed by the patient. Fixed partial dentures (bridges) are often a more desirable alternative to a removable restoration or implant therapy when replacing missing teeth.
