Comprehensive Oral Evaluation:

At Crescent Dental Associates we believe the cornerstone to proper dental care begins with a thorough and complete dental exam. This is typically your first appointment at our office. The exam begins with a thorough medical history to determine if any medications or medical conditions you are being treated for will impact your oral health. Dental radiographs (x-rays) are taken in order to provide your dentist with the ability to properly diagnose any disease or pathology at cannot be clinically detected. The comprehensive oral evaluation also includes a thorough periodontal (gum) exam, oral cancer screening, and TMJ evaluation. We will also examine your occlusion or “bite” to check for any bite problems or evidence of teeth grinding. Diagnostics impressions, models, and photographs may also be taken to aid in diagnosis. Following the exam, your dentist will review his findings with you one-on-one, and explain your treatment options so you can decide together on the best way to improve and maintain optimal oral health.
